Urgent - Participate today in the write-in/call-in campaign!
A sentencing hearing is to be held Thursday, June 4 at 9am. Ajamu needs your support!
On April 8, 2009 Ajamu was convicted on three felony counts (two counts of possession with intent deliver and 1 count of conspiracy to deliver). The prosecution is seeking a 2-year mandatory minimum on each marijuana charge, so he is facing 4 1/2 to 9 years. Yesterday his co-defendent, who was the primary suspect in the case, was sentenced (without prior notification of date) to two to four years (further evidence of the attack on Ajamu).
Ajamu has an 8-year-old son for which he has sole custody, a new wife, and a daughter (Iyapo Ngina-Bandele and Abeo Milele-Bandele).
We are very close to raising the remainder of the resources for his legal defense, so please donate today. Your contribution represents your material solidarity with the rights of African people for Self-determination. We are calling on all lovers of freedom and social justice to support the struggle to Free Ajamu by making a contribution to the legal defense fund.
